Button rules out Le Mans debut as 2017 plans take shape

 XPB Images Jenson Button says he won’t take part in the 2017 Le Mans 24 Hours during his sabbatical year away from Formula One, but mentions the Suzuka 1000kms and US-based Global Rallycross Championship (GRC) as attractive options. The Briton will step down from his McLaren-Honda seat at the end of the current campaign, with reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne promoted alongside Fernando Alonso in 2017. Button remains contracted with his current team for another two years though, and will serve as an ambassador and its reserve driver next season.
