Vettel fastest on penultimate F1 test day
– Sebastian Vettel recorded the quickest time of pre-season testing as he led the way for Ferrari on the penultimate day of action at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Thursday.Vettel, following rapid stints on the Soft and Super Soft compound, moved to the front on a 1:19.024 prior to the lunch break, having switched to the Ultra Soft tyres.The time was achieved despite Vettel noticeably backing off as he approached the finish line on his quickest laps, thus denying the paddock the opportunity to glimpse Ferrari's true pace.No-one troubled Vettel's headline-grabbing time over the course of the afternoon, with the German completing a quick and consistent race simulation on an...
