Palmer fastest as Barcelona test concludes
Lotus reserve driver Jolyon Palmer set the pace on the final day of the post-Spanish Grand Prix in-season test. The reigning GP2 champion used a set of super soft tyres late in the afternoon session to move to the top of the timesheets with a 1:26.080. Palmer managed to complete 87 laps in total. Pascal Wehrlein led the morning session and spent most of the afternoon fastest, improving with a 1:24.497. However, he was beaten to first place by Palmer late in the day. Wehrlein had been scheduled to drive for Force India on Tuesday but a fever forced him to miss the outing.
