Mercedes confirms engine parity for customers

Williams, Force India and Manor will get use of the latest specification Mercedes engine as used by the factory team in 2016, the manufacturer has confirmed. Mercedes introduced an upgrade to its power unit at the Italian Grand Prix in September as part of a new development direction with fuel supplier Petronas, but a limitation of resources at Brixworth meant it couldn't be rolled out to Williams, Force India and former customer Lotus. Nevertheless, Mercedes AMG HPP managing director Andy Cowell says it was a short-term disadvantage for long-term gain, with Williams, Force India and new customer Manor now able to run the latest specification engine from the opening round in Australia....
